Firdous ashiq Awan says that Kartarpur Corridor will remain open irrespective of Indo-Pak relations. India and Pakistan’s relations deteriorated over the Kashmir issue. Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan is a Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting. She further tells that Pakistan’s govt. will inaugurate the corridor in November. Moreover, She rejected rumors about Pakistan stop working on the corridor. After the country’s relations with India strained after Indian Govt.’s decision of revoking article 370.

Furthermore, she says that Pakistan’s doors will remain open to Sikh pilgrims. Sikh will be visiting Darbar Sahib Kartarpur for the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak. The plan of the corridor includes that Pakistan will build the corridor from the Indian border to the  Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur.  While the part from Dera Baba Nanak in Indian Punjab’s Gurdaspur district up to the border will be constructed by India.
