According to The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) Officials, expensive electricity was generated from furnace oil and high speed diesel in July. NEPRA says, cheap power generating plants were not operated in July.
NPCC officials said, 43% overuse of furnace oil is incorrect. Furnace oil plants come on merit order and more than 19,000 MW of electricity is generated, Furnace of accounts for 19% of our system. So Electricity price increased by NEPRA.
Previously we saw The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) increased the electricity price for 5 months and now they increased again in the name of fuel adjustment.
NPCC says load management did not have to be done in july due to good planning, if furnace oil or diesel plants were not running 8 to 10 hours of load shedding would have to be done.
According to The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), the analysis we have done is based on the data of the institutions. 2500 MW Plants are not in good condition and not working.
