Ebola cases surface in Congo again. Ebola caused the death of a woman and her infant son. Furthermore, It revives fears of spreading this disease regionally. In last August, The Democratic Republic of Congo’s Ebola epidemic claimed more than 1,900 lives since erupting. Moreover, The outbreak of the haemorrhagic virus began in North Kivu in 2018. Then spread to Ituri province. The pathogen causes fever, vomiting and severe diarrhoea. Then it is follows by kidney and liver failure, and internal and external bleeding.
The threats of spreading this contagious disease into other states are massive. Moreover, South Kivu shares borders with Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania. WHO chief tweeted that the outbreak in South Kivu caused a rapid response. The response includes providing treatment, identify all contacts, raise community awareness & begin vaccinating. Furthermore, IFRC is rapidly deploying an expert team to the area. The authorities deploy a US-made vaccine, rVSV-ZEBOV. The vaccination is injected to nearly 200,000 people.
