Tinder, Grindr, SayHi and Other Dating Apps Banned in Pakistan

But a statement from the PTA has indeed confirmed the news and left Pakistani adults ticked off as their banning spree continues (remember when they went after PUBG?).

Tinder. Tagged, Skout, Grindr and SayHi have all been blocked in the country due to the “negative effects of immoral/indecent content” found on them.

Here PTA announced it on twitter

However, the statement added that the PTA can “reconsider blocking” of the said applications provided their company managements assure adherence to local laws “with respect to moderating the indecent/immoral content through meaningful engagement” and asked them to remove “dating services”. Don’t know how they expect dating apps to remove dating services but okay…

NPCC officials said, 43% overuse of furnace oil is incorrect. Furnace oil plants come on merit order and more than 19,000 MW of electricity is generated, Furnace of accounts for 19% of our system. So Electricity price increased by NEPRA.

Previously we saw The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) increased the electricity price for 5 months and now they increased again in the name of fuel adjustment.

NPCC says load management did not have to be done in july due to good planning, if furnace oil or diesel plants were not running 8 to 10 hours of load shedding would have to be done.

Pakistani Astrobiologist Dr Nozair Khawaja and his team have Discovered signs of life on Satrun’s Moon

Pakistani Astrobiologist Dr Nozair Khawaja and his team have Discovered a Key organic molecule on Enceladus, one of the 62 moons orbiting the planet Saturn.

Enceladus is about 500 Km in Diameter.

Experts have termed the Discovery to be the #1st of its kind Beyond Earth, making Enceladus eligible to be in the list of the most notable candidates for having extra-terrestrial Life.

Khawaja’s team was conducting research on Data Gathered from the moon’s hydrothermal core, Earlier Gathered by National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Cassini Spacecraft.

Speaking to media, Dr Khawaja said : I have found small but soluble and reactive organic compound pluming from the depths (ocean) of Enceladus. The compound from the ocean of Enceladus is already a known ingredient of amino acids found in the oceans of Earth.

Although NASA’s Cassini spacecraft was Launched in 1997, completed its research mission in 2017, scientists have #Yet to study all the research material gathered during the spacecraft’s vital mission.

With each #Passing day, Enceladus is becoming one of the most habitable potential objects in the solar system to study traces of life after Earth. The next logical step should be to #Explore the Cassini space probe data and find more bio-signatures in the subsurface ocean of Enceladus. More space missions should be proposed and planned to explore this tiny world which is full of surprises, said the Pakistani astrobiologist.

Life beyond Blue Planet :

Amino acids are the organic compounds known as the #Building Blocks of life for almost every creature on Earth. Various types of amino acids play major roles in protein making, metabolism, synthesis in hormones and neurotransmitters from the brain to across the human body.

The organic molecule, found by Dr Khawaja & his team, is composed of Oxygen & Nitrogen and has been enveloped in ice grain. It can easily be dubbed as a precursor of amino acid.

Enceladus’s ocean is covered with an ice sheet, similar to Earth’s icy poles. The ice Grains & the vapours that are ejected from this ocean through hydrothermal activity are released in space from small cracks on the moon’s surface.

Pakistan Listed Among World’s Top 20 Reformers for Ease of Doing Business says World Bank

With continuous efforts in this direction, the country has significantly improved the business environment in the country, which is why it has been named among the top performers in the world.

A recent report by the World Bank has mentioned a series of initiatives taken by the country towards facilitating the business community.

Pakistan made starting a business easier by expanding procedures available through the online one-stop-shop. In addition to improvements in property registration, obtaining a construction permit became easier after the Sindh Building and Control Authority and the Lahore Development Authority streamlined approval workflows and improved the operational efficiency of their one-stop shops.

The World Bank lauded the efforts of the incumbent government in this regard and said:

It reflects the country’s development of an ambitious reform strategy including the establishment of the national secretariat and Prime Minister’s reform steering committee.

The report also acknowledged how the integration of various agencies into one electronic platform has improved trading across the borders.

Huawei is currently working on 6G, according to CEO

Having already made a name for itself as a pioneer of 5G, Huawei already has its eyes set on a potentially bigger prize – 6G. Hailed as the successor of 5G mobile networks, little progress has been made on 6G so far, with most of the efforts coming as a courtesy of telecom companies like Nokia and Ericsson. Huawei hopes to enter this exclusive club, but more importantly, it hopes to be the first to pioneer this technology on a wide scale too.

5G networks have been all the rage nowadays, be it their official launch in Pakistan by Zong, or be it their inclusion in smartphones by companies like Samsung and Huawei. However, it has barely established itself, largely due to scant connectivity and not a whole lot of users.

Since 5G networks are not yet available on a global scale, and there are no obvious applications right now that warrant the use of this technology, it makes sense to invest resources in building it up for now. However, Huawei CEO Ren Zhengfei has already started thinking about 6G and his company’s role in it.

We have parallel work being done on 5G and 6G, so we started out 6G a long time ago,” Ren said during a panel discussion on Thursday. According to him, the technology is in its infancy and it still has “a long way to go”. For one, every network technology needs to conform to a set of standards, but these haven’t been decided as far as 6G is concerned. For another, much like with 5G, it is still not clear how 6G will be different.

Even though the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is focusing largely on 5G nowadays – it has signed more than 50 commercial 5G contracts so far. The fact that even a premature level of research has been initiated by the company on 6G means that we can expect a very competitive playing arena for this technology.
And the world will definitely be all the better for it.

BJP leaders involved in India’s ‘biggest’ sex scandal

Leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) among others are reportedly involved in India’s ‘biggest’ ever ‘quid pro quo sex scandal’, reported Times of India.

The scandal came to the forefront after a honeytrap probe was launched in Madhya Pradesh. At least 4,000 files have till date been recovered during the ongoing investigation.

“It could turn out to be the biggest ever quid pro quo sex scandal in the country as the investigation progresses,” said an officer.

Leaders of the Congress party, senior and junior bureaucrats are also involved.

According to the Indian daily, screenshots of sex chats, videos of naked officers and audio clips have been extracted from the laptops and cell phones which were confiscated in the probe.

The Indian publication reported that women as young as 18, often visited an elite club in Bhopal where rooms were booked by senior bureaucrats.

“There are inputs that the check-in registers of the club are missing and efforts are on to manipulate other records that have images of these girls. This includes CCTV cameras,” an officer said.

A daunting task lies ahead for the Indian Police as they are trying to stop these pictures and videos from falling into the wrong hands.

“The basic line of investigation should be the quid pro quo deals. The officers concerned should be charged under Prevention of Corruption Act,” said an officer and added that seeking and accepting sexual favours is considered a bribe under the new anti-corruption law, and it carries a seven-year jail.

India’s Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, incorporates the umbrella term ‘undue advantage’, which means any gratification other than legal remuneration and includes expensive dub memberships and hospitality, said the officer, adding the word ‘gratification’ is not limited to money.

“Once investigations are done, honey-trapped government officials can be booked for seeking and accepting sexual favours,” he further said. Kiu

Pakistan Wants to Export Electricity to Tajikistan

Under the agreement, Pakistan is bound to import 1,000MW of electricity per day at 9.50 cents per unit in the summer season from May to October.

The MoU states that Pakistan is not liable to pay for any electricity transit loss in Afghanistan in case of any untoward activity.

When Pakistan entered the agreement during 2016-17, there was an acute power shortage in the country. However, under CPEC, several energy projects were initiated and now the country has surplus electricity during the winter season.

Since it is a two-way trade agreement, the country now wants to export electricity to the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan in winter season using the same structure of CASA project.

Additional Secretary Power Division Waseem Mukhtar, who is attending the CAREC countries’ two days conference “Breaking the Investment Barrier in Central Asia,” said Pakistan will take up the matter during the next meeting.

“Pakistan will take up the issue and ask electricity supplier countries- Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan – to review the deal under open access clause ensuring the two-way electricity trade arguing that Pakistan is now surplus in electricity.’”

On Pakistan’s request, the issue has been included in the agenda of the next meeting.

The project includes a 750 kilometer-long high-voltage, direct current (DC) transmission line between Pakistan and Tajikistan via Afghanistan.

The project cost is estimated to be around $1.7 billion. Along with the transmission line, converter stations will also be constructed in Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. The country has already acquired the land in Nowshera for setting up a converter station.
