Clash between Israeli Police and Palestinians at Jeruselum

On Sunday, 11 August, a  clash between Israeli police and Palestinians at Jeruselum occurred. The clash between both parties was due to the overlapping of Muslim and jews holidays. Palestinian Muslims celebrated eid ul Adha n Sunday. While jews had Tisha B’av holiday. Due to the overlapping of these holidays, the visits to the holy site of Al Aqsa mosque by both communities increased. And after a protest by Palestinians, the clash between Israeli Police and Palestinians occurred.

Al-Aqsa mosque is the third most holy site of Islam. While for jews, it is the most sacred site. Therefore, Jerusalem is the most sensitive part of the conflict between Israel and Palestine. Jerusalem has been under Israeli occupation since the war of 1967.
