Zoha Rahman is the first-ever hijab-wearing character in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Far from Home. In an interview, she says that she took her role in the film to highlight millions of women. Who wear hijab and are as ordinary people as those who don’t wear hijab. She is a Pakistan born actor. Moreover, she says that earlier, her original role was not about wearing hijab. But later on, they asked that if she would like the role of a hijabi and she instantly agreed to do the role.
Furthermore, she says that traditionally there have been limiting roles for Muslims. For example, role of a taxi driver, techie, or a terrorist. Moreover, Muslim female characters are shown as oppressed. Therefore, It was a big matter for me to represent all those women who cover their heads. But are the strongest, funniest and most intelligent women.
She moved from Pakistan to London almost seven years ago to study and started modelling for commercials along with studies. She recently finished her law degree and plans to do Masters in Law as well but for now, her full concentration is on her acting career. Moreover,the actress is currently working on a Netflix project.
