PEMRA bans Indian actors and content in ads

PEMRA bans Indian actors and content in ads amid tensions over Kashmir issue. Moreover, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA)  bans the broadcast of advertisements produced in India. PEMRA also banned Featuring of Indian actors in Pakistan.

Although, it already prohibited airing Indian channels and content on the directions of the Supreme Court last year. But the of various products of multinationals, produced in India or carrying Indian actors are on electronic media even now. PEMRA particularly targets the products such as  Dettol soap, Surf Excel powder, Pantene shampoo, Head & Shoulders shampoo, Lifebuoy shampoo, Fogg body spray, Sunsilk shampoo, Knorr noodles, Sufi, Fair & Lovely face wash, and Safeguard soap.
