Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in rich nations. It overtakes heart disease as a leading cause of death. Although, heart disease is still the leading cause of death among middle-aged adults internationally. Moreover, it accounts for more than 40 percent of deaths.
But according to a study published in The Lancet medical journal, in richer countries, cancer kills more people than heart disease. Furthermore, Dagenais said that heart disease rates fell globally. Therefore, cancer became the leading cause of death worldwide. And all it happened within some decades.
