People are observing day of Ashura today. throughout the country on the 10th of Muharram. Moreover, people carry large processions in remembrance of Imam Hussain (RA) These processions are to keep the memory of Karbala alive. Processions are also proceeding peacefully. Moreover, different police and security forces are maintaining security arrangements. The government also appoints different police officers and personnel along the route.
Authorities made tight security arrangements to facilitate the processions. Suspension of mobile phone services along the routes of the main Muharram procession in Karachi, Quetta, and Lahore was due to security reasons.
