Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reduced the number of central contracts from 33 to 19. And these central contracts have created three categories. PCB formed three categories which are A, B, and C. And different players got different categories. Moreover, not all the players got the central contracts. Like the all-rounder, Shoaib Malik and Muhammad Hafeez didn’t get offers of central contracts. Although, according to MSB these players are available for selection.
During these changes in central contract Muhammad Amir, Fakhar Zaman, and Hassan Ali were demoted. These players get C category. Moreover, only skipper Sarfraz Ahmed, middle-order batsman Babar Azam and the leg-spinner Yasir Shah have come under A category. Therefore, these changes in the category have created some concerns in the players.
